Final Property Tax Deadline is tomorrow
According to revenue commissioners property owners will have to pay the property tax. The deadline has been set at midnight tomorrow. Failure to comply will result in the tax being deducted from the homeowners wages by July.
In the long run homeowners will be unable to sell their house without paying the tax. This tax will remain as a charge on the property and will be due whenever the property is sold or transferred. Half a million people are yet to register or pay. The authorities are making it clear that it is up to the homeowners themselves to pay the tax and if they have not received the letter in the first place they must log onto the revenue site, select the ‘I did not receive a property ID’, file name and address, PPS number and then complete the return in exactly the same way as if they had received a letter.
