We’re excited to announce Supernova 6.5, our biggest theme update in months — and it couldn’t have come at a better time. With WordPress 6.9 now available, we’ve made sure Supernova is fully compatible and ready to take advantage of the latest features.

The Big News: FAQ Is Now Built-In

If you’ve been using our separate Acquaint FAQ plugin, you can now uninstall it. The entire FAQ functionality has been merged directly into Supernova as a native module. This means:

• One less plugin to maintain
• Better performance
• Seamless integration with your theme settings
• Automatic updates alongside the theme

You’ll find the FAQ module in your Supernova settings, ready to use out of the box.

A Smoother Mobile Experience

We’ve made several improvements to how Supernova behaves on mobile devices:

• The mobile menu now closes when you tap outside of it — a small change that makes a big difference in usability
• Fixed an issue where the overlay could sometimes get “stuck” on screen
• Increased the mobile menu font size for better readability

Search That Actually Finds Everything

Previously, the WordPress search only looked through your posts and pages. Now, with a simple toggle in settings, you can include all post types in your search results — including WooCommerce products, FAQs, testimonials, and any custom content you’ve added.

WooCommerce: Ready for Your Online Store

This update brings extended WooCommerce support with smarter integration:

• The theme now automatically detects WooCommerce — no manual settings required
• Products appear in site-wide search results
• New styling options for product variations
• Improved templates for a consistent shopping experience

Performance & Security Improvements

Behind the scenes, we’ve done significant housekeeping:

• Removed legacy features that were slowing things down
• Eliminated unnecessary database queries
• Added security protections across all settings forms
• Introduced plugin restrictions to prevent conflicts with problematic plugins

Accessibility Matters

Supernova now respects your visitors’ motion preferences. If someone has enabled “reduce motion” in their operating system, animations, and transitions will be minimized automatically. It’s a small touch that makes a big difference for users with vestibular disorders or motion sensitivity.

Keeping Supernova Compatible

This update migrates internal patterns to template parts and reorganizes theme files to ensure a smooth transition as WordPress continues to evolve.

How to Update

If you’re running Supernova, you should see the update available in your WordPress dashboard. As always, we recommend backing up your site before updating.

For FAQ plugin users: After updating to Supernova 6.5, you can safely deactivate and delete the Acquaint FAQ plugin. Your existing FAQs will continue to work through the new built-in module.
